Some questions for my fellow B2B...
1) Who will book and settle matters regarding the tok kadi? The groom or the bride?
2) Is it advisable to book a tok kadi who stays near you?
3) What's the difference between Kadi and Naib kadi? IMO as long as he can solemnise the marriage, I ok already but some people still banyak songeh about this. -_-
Feel free to comment ladies! Thanks!

1) I leave it to the groom pasal dier tak byk keje (no need search for mak andam, photog, videog pasal dier amik all under one roof) and pasal dier yang nak kawin ngan I so he go settle the admin matters. need to pay $39 also upon registering tau. so let him pay. alahh $39 je hiokhiok.
ReplyDelete2) yeap, convenient for him and also less chances of kadi getting sesat ;P
3) oops sorry, im not sure about this. but why people want to songeh2 eh. adeeee je yang tak kene ngan orang2 nih *roll eyes*
-silentreader btb-
1) its the groom!
ReplyDelete2) yes advisable to book a kadi who stays near you. so he wont be late to solemnize your nikah. because kadi they dont do one nikah one day, the do like i guess 5 or so nikahs in a day?
3) naib kadi - for bride who has a father, brother, related uncles to wali for them
kadi - for bride who dont have related blood lines of uncles/ grandfathers from the father's side or elder brothers (if im not wrong)
i may be wrong but this is what i heard of before..
(1) orang cakap, by right the groom yang settle tok kadi. but up to korang lah, by right ke by left
ReplyDelete(2) of course better to book tok kadi who lives near you so dia familiar with the route to your place (assuming your solemnization is kat rumah). but if you book tok kadi yang tinggal jauh pun no hal, dia lambat or sesat depends on your luck, tak semestinya *confirm* dia akan lambat or sesat (i mean, mana tau secara kebetulan kaum puak dia semua memang tinggal at your area and he is familiar with your location?)
(3) both kadi and naib kadi boleh nikahkan. what is there to banyak songeh about this! true what beautragedie said, orang yang takde related blood lines segala baru ada requirement MUST dinikahkan by kadi. other than that, up to you, takde problem pun whether you choose kadi or naib kadi.
@farnamals - hahaha geli hati pls reading your point no. 2 on tok kadi kalau sesat.
ReplyDeleteactually kan... kalau the kadi is from another wedding redundant what if he stays near u or not. he may not even be from home even if yours is the 1st wedding he has to solemnise. mana tau the night before dia thon kat chalet. point is... u book a kadi who is known to be punctual or avoid booking a kadi notorious for being late lah. anyway, kadi has the right to turn down your request if he feels he cant make it on time. so no worries abt that.
ReplyDeletehi hi, just adding in my twenty cents heh!
ReplyDelete1) Who will book and settle matters regarding the tok kadi? The groom or the bride?
usually, it's the groom, but an interesting viewpoint that the trainer had during the kursus was that, rightfully, it's the bride/bride's parents who should book/pay the kadi. the reason why he said this, is that the kadi is the representative of the wali who will offer (ijab) the bride's hand in marriage and the groom accepts (qabul) the offer. the kadi represents the best interests of the bride hence the reason why our trainer said it should be the bride.
i think the reason why (now) it falls onto the guy to look for the kadi and pay for the kadi's service, is because... they don't do many other preparation stuff what! HAHAHAHAHA!
in my case, i booked the kadi and my husband paid for his service HAHAHAHAA.
2) Is it advisable to book a tok kadi who stays near you?
i don't think it would matter that much, unless ur nikah is pukul 9am @ Tampines and the kadi stays in Jurong West. if it's not, then distance wouldn't matter much, because like @sgrrcnt said, kadis may have prior bookings before your event so they may not even be coming from home. they may also be held up because of other factors on the way to your wedding, so you probably have to factor in your solemnization timing and whether you should work in some buffer time onto your itinerary.
3) What's the difference between Kadi and Naib kadi? IMO as long as he can solemnise the marriage, I ok already but some people still banyak songeh about this. -_-
Kadis are usually reserved for complex cases, like if the bride doesn't have a Wali or if she is a convert and her father/male relatives are not Muslim. Naib kadis cannot solemnize the marriage if the bride falls into one of those categories above.
This is what I understood lah from what i learnt before, so... heh.
P.S : my two cents jadi mcm two DOLLARS LIKE THAT PANJANG LEBAR NYAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
