daun d'co

Tagged on FB...

Anyone going?

DaunDco is my first choice! Their dais all very chantek and not generic looking, so go check check check it out yo.

Not sure if I'm going though cos I might have to work. -.-

money no enough.

The first thing Mom said when I told her I wanted to get married was, "NAK KAHWIN? AKU TAKDE DUIT NAK KAHWIN KAN KAU!"

HAHAHA. Up till today, she still grumbles to me about the wedding. It's not that she's unhappy that I want to get married (she CAN'T wait for me to move out in fact, hahahahaha.), she's just concerned about the cost of the wedding and we all know how expensive weddings can be. A modest malay wedding can easily cost around 20K to 30K.

Honestly, my wedding fund is pathetic. Haiyah, I keep spending and withdrawing from my wedding fund. Very bad habit, tsk. Sometimes I feel stressed thinking about the wedding and doesn't help that the wedding vendors I talked to reminded me that the price will increase next year. That's why I decided to book all my stuff by the end of this year but suddenly...Mom tells me we will be going for a family holiday and I will have to pay for the tickets out of my wedding fund. SO SEDIH OK?!

I find it hard to save but I'm trying. Fiance & I agreed we should spend wisely and gave me the liberty to bark remind him not to spend unnecessarily.

That means less shopping & going out. My parents are more than happy about us not going out. We're always having dinner at my place instead. It's a win win situation!

I've set aside a small amount for my "work pocket money". Since I work shifts, $150 should suffice for my meals at work for the whole month and I always pack food for my night shifts too, so save sikit.

Minus here, minus there- pocket sudah kering kontang before pay day. :'( BUT IT'S OK!!! Susah now, easy later. Hahahahaha.

I am slightly kicking myself now for signing up with FF gym. The money could have gone into the wedding fund but it's ok la, I need to keep fit anyway. Oh yes, keeping fit and losing weight. Well that's another story for another day!

chairs.

Hopefully by 2013, the Chiavari chairs don't cost a bomb... :'(

Well...a girl can dream. :'(

Invite.

Our HDB invitation package arrived yesterday. :D

Soooo surreal to see our names on the envelope. Hahaha, how funny it is that 2 years ago, when I first saw him, I was like -.- and wasn't even the least interested in him. Fate, I guess... :)

My parents were super excited, they kept reminding me to print out all the necessary documents for our appointment next month. If everything goes well, the house will be my most expensive purchase EVERRRR. The price of a 4 room is quite melampau ah just cos it's a mature estate. For my friends who didnt succeed in this round of BTO, it's ok! I'm sure they will be building more BTOs in mature estates soon. Tak sia sia I vote opposition, kasi pressure sikit hahahaha.

But paling important now is to save save and SAVE! :'(

issues- pass me some tissues.

Yesterday while rolling around in bed, I got a bit emo about stuff. Been wanting to address the issues but kept it all inside.

Even before the engagement, I've been asked upteen times if I'm making the right decision because we've  been together not for long and it is a decision that will affect me for my whole life.

At first, I took into consideration what OTHER people thought about my decision but it gradually annoyed me cos there were many opinions and I had NONE.

Do you REALLY want to get married? Aren't you too young? How do you know he's the one? Have you saved enough? Can he take care of you? Is he handsome enough? (trust me, there are alot of superficial/judgemental people out there.) Are his family members ok? Blahblahblah.

A week before the engagement, I got cold feet. I couldn't stop crying because I was SCARED. Some people might say, "Ah relek ah, tunang je pe, tunang bleh putos pe." Kalau fikiran gitu, lebih baik jangan tunang. Jangan commit teros.

Eventually he found out why I've been so weepy and distant, we had a talk about it and we went through the engagement. I'm not saying everything is a bed of roses but I am sure it's gonna be strong. All my fears have been laid to rest. :)

Mom used to remind me this, when I was dating around la. "Choose laki jangan yang handsome je, choose yang berugama, sayang diri and family and kerja tetap. Kerja ape2 pon boleh asal kerja halal dan tetap."

I'm not being self righteous, so far from that but what Mom said is true. Muka kalau handsome berg tapi malas nak kerja FOR WHAT. Bukan mintak yang millionaire and kaya macam anak raja ar, yang sedarhana pon ok.

I still have these sceptical people around me btw. Sometimes it's hard not to listen and give in to them but ultimately it is MY choice.

Sometimes my fiance does not understand why I'm blogging about my wedding stuff. Guess he thinks I should keep things in private. Some people might say, "Yek eleh dekni, kahwin masih lama tapi feeling feeling." but all I wanna do is document the process and share things at the same time. We all must help each other mah. I admit that I don't know alot about this kahwin kahwin stuff but if other brides can share deals and ideas, I'm all up for it. I am still understanding and learning about the ropes of planning. Anyway, this is the only escape from my stressful and demanding job. It makes me happy to talk and share my thoughts. So ok lor.

But of course it won't all be kahwing kahwing issues entirely. This is to document the whole process so after 2013, I will read everything and reminisce about it. :)

i'm coming home.

You know what I look forward to after a difficult day at work? Going home.

And I can't wait for a place to call my own.

Alhamdullilah. We managed to get a queue number for the upcoming Tampines BTO. EAST SIDE FOREVAAAAAA!!!!

Insyallah things will go smoothly. One thing I'm not looking forward to is...my CPF statement. All wiped out, jialat!

look look see see

WOOT.

Finally I am satisfied with my blog layout. FYI, I am super fussy with my blog layout ok. Everytime nak buat layout, kene side track. Tengok TV la, reply Twitter la, tengok orang lain nye Facebook ah...tu pasal tak abis abis layout ni.

YAY. Now finish already!

Since the last update, I've been doing some stuff for the wedding. We agreed on a date that won't clash on our shifts. Sucks to be working shifts man. I prefer 9-5 thanks. ANYWAY, the date will be around late November.

Initially wanted it to be on my birthday but our shifts are gonna clash. -.-. Sibeh sian. So we're gonna have it after MY birthday, woot. Now that we've agreed to the date, things should be easier.

Eventhough it's still a long way to go till the wedding, I believe there's no harm in surveying and recce-ing. See see only. So far, I've been to 3 wedding expos, they're ok I guess.

A few weeks ago I called Chinta & Versari Ade for appointments and to my dismay, I may have to cancel Versari which was initally my first choice. :( Chinta's price suited my budget and also they have more varieties of Indian costumes. My fiance is half indian so he insists on an indian costume.

I am still looking around for andamans- thinking of D'Glamz too. I love their outfits!!! But we'll see how. Mom isn't too keen on a male MUA. I'm sure we can work something out!
