Finally have time to update this berkeladak blog. I am so bad at this!

Nope, I am still not married, lama lagi...lagi 104 days! HAHAHAHA. I think I'm in denial about everything. A lot of people are asking me about my preps, "Hows your preps? Dah ready? semua dah ok?"

STAHP. Just stop asking. Unless you're one of my bridesmaids or my friend, please don't ask too much. I appreciate your concern but it's very stressful. Oh, before I forget...

SELAMAT HARI RAYA! MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN! If I offended anyone unintentionally or intentionally (haha!), so sorry, next year raya boleh mintak maaf lagi Insyallah. :D

Anyways, back to my story. People have been asking me about my wedding preps...lagi lagi bila time raya. I will just nod and say "Yes, semua dah ready" but the truth is, I don't even know what I'm (not) doing. I'm doing this alone (you can never depend on men, can you?) and it seems like everyone who is getting married  around my time is preparing like mad! Ade yang dah take pre wedding photos, dah go makeup trial, dah DIY bunga, dah ini dah itu...I'm not even done with anything.

Of course I booked all the vendors already lah but that's just it. I don't even know if my braces are gonna be off by November. My dentist said that I might still have to keep the bottom braces. :( That means I cannot take my pre wedding photos because I refuse to have gigi besi in photos that I might show my kids in the future hahahaha. Think my mom is kinda glad, dia siang siang dah veto pre wedding photoshoot but...hehehehe. I think it's ok ah, tak yah peluk peluk pe. Masing masing lah eh.

Still struggling to save money, think we might have to postpone the honeymoon also. Sigh. Takpe lah, save a bit more maybe can go a bit jauh like Europe or USA. Kalau nak sangat, pergi je staycation.

We're thinking of Boracay for our honeymoon though! Hopefully enough rezeki! So happy that TR now has a straight flight to Boracay! Baik ah. My colleague actually helped me researched about Boracay, so nice. It doesn't seem too expensive, so hopefully we don't have to postpone ah.

Kahwin ni banyak pakai duit ah. I'm not even throwing an event at a swanky 5 star hotel or what lah. Biasa biasa je- so kids, dengar cakap akak ye, kalau nak kahwin, pergi simpan duit.

Sometimes I feel sad. Sad that I won't get my ~dream~ wedding due to certain constraints. Occasionally I will read blogs and see things that I can't afford to have for my wedding and I will feel down but I tell myself it's ok cos that's their rezeki and my rezeki might come in different forms. I'm sure most of us envisioned the perfect wedding but gotta live with what we have..:)

Oh oh, Chinta Weddings dah call suroh go fitting!!! I am SO EXCITED! Cannot wait to meet Kak Suraya for selection and measurements. I can't wait to meet my mak andam too!!! I asked for a change of mak andam. I initailly chose Lily to be my mak andam but now I am asking for Lynn Salleh instead. That's because I LOVE HER MAKEUP and she's my colleague's wife. So I feel a bit safe with her? But I love Lily's makeup too! If I can't get Lynn Salleh, I'll stick to Lily!

I am very particular about eyebrows. When I was choosing my mak andam dulu, I always scrutinise the pengantin's eyebrows. Eyebrows frame the face and I like it just nice- not too thick and not too thin. If gradient eyebrows lagi I like~ Macam Pala Foxxia. Tapi dia bukan mak andam ye hahahahahaha.

Anyway, I am panicking because I have not hit my targeted weight! I lost weight but it's not enough and I think I need to lose more. I have to admit that I am more obsessed with losing weight rather than the details of my wedding. I've been on a diet since January and been seeing improvements but I am still not satisfied. The upcoming bridal fitting lagi makes me kancheong.

Gonna try another diet and I hope I am able to commit. That topic...in another entry.

Makeup by the gurus at D'Glamz. So the meletop!

My cousin is finally married!!!!

After 9 months of intensive planning, arguing, stressing and fretting, it's all over! My feet are still hurting from all that running around in heels. Sampai tempang aku dibuatnye. Being the Maid of Honour was fun but very tiring, responsibility banyak geng. One wrong decision and the bride will be upset. So mesti sayang sayang the bride and assure her everything will be ok cos brides WILL stress out. My cousin was ok but I cannot say the same for me when it's my turn!

So this means...

WE'RE NEXT!!!!!!

Eeee, seriously so excited and takut! I know it's like another 1 year plus to go but I still could not escape from being shoved to all the makcik makcik at the wedding. "Ah ni dia anak leman, lepas ni dia nye turn lah!" PRESSURE DOK. Tengok bank account lagi aku pressure. Tengok my flabby arms LAGI pressure! Nak kene lose weight ni!

Bridesmaids.

There were a lot of things that I took note of during the wedding. Some things/situations that could be improved for my wedding. Despite the hiccups, Alhamdullilah my cousin's majlis went smoothly... so happy!

BOOKED!

Am really looking forward to the next 2 weeks. My cousin (my orang kuat) is tying the knot and I am sooooo excited! It's the first wedding for my paternal family after a looooooong time. She has been dishing out advice on what to expect and things/vendors to stay away from. Making mental notes now, ha ha. 

Both of us went to the wedding exhibition that was held recently. Not the one held on CNY week, the Mega Wedding Expo is it? Yup. Took the first step and booked the most important thing- Andaman. Took me 2 days, sought 1763517835418358 opinions before deciding. We went on the first day and shortlisted 2 bridal companies. Discussed with my cousin & Fiance and booked another bridal company instead, hahahaha. I am glad that I chose them because they were my first choice initially. 

Super relieved that I don't have to look around for andaman anymore. Tapi biasa lah, mata rambang je tengok mak andam lain, hahaha. Love their makeup and outfits and they are reputable. Hope I made the right choice, Insyallah.

So two things are settled. My house and Mak Andam. Not sure if I should start looking around for Deco and Photography/Videography. Maybe in June. 

In the mean time...shall look around for nice colour schemes. Salmon, Dusty pink, Mauve...mmm nice!

Saw pictures of Kim Kardashian's wedding...so so pretty but NGL (not gonna lie) I expected more than a black & white affair.

Maybe fireworks or some outrageous outfits but guess she kept to the classic and timeless look.

 

Her Vera Wang gown looks gorgeous although I think a fish skirting (think that is what it's called) would look better cos it will accentuate her figure and oh, her bridesmaids are in WHITE. 

People are usually told NOT to wear white to a wedding. Macam upstage the bride la gitu but think the Kardashian sisters are looking very naise!

And I am TOTALLY in love with her head piece. At first I was like...APE TU? but then it grew on me and think it's so much better than a freaking tiara. *shudders* Hmm, I also want lah liddat. :P

 

Love how simple her makeup is but the lady has a pretty face to start with. Her jewellery pieces are all sooooo nice! The earrings...the ring.... *_*

cruel to be kind

It has not been a good time for me- with my minor accident while driving at work which earned me a swollen nose and lips and to add fuel to the fire, my dentist found out that I have 2 impacted teeth- one with a cyst surrounding it. So I had to go for an extraction immediately. So here I am with a tender nose and lips looking like a chipmunk.

Before I go all negative, hope all of you are having a blessed ramadhan with your loved ones. :) Ramadhan is somewhat special to me this year cos it will be my first time celebrating with a Fiance (haha, jakon, I know). Kalau pakai jari kira, we have 3 hari rayas together, lama jugak tu but I ain't counting it baybeh.

Wedding plans are shelved for now but OF COURSE I still stalk FB and forums for good mak andams and deco companies.

Recently read a posting on FB about a bad experience with a certain wedding caterer. I will  refrain from commenting cos it involves someone close to me. There are 2 sides to every story and I am still trying to get the other side's story. We'll see if we stick to the caterer or just switch caterer, don't wanna hurt anyone but sometimes we are left with no choice.

Harghhhh, think about this later. Got some stalking investigating to do.

I drafted a blog entry about Mizz. Nina's wedding, got distracted and in the end deleted the entry. -.-

Yesterday we had to head down to H.D.B for the unit selection. For the past few weeks, we've been at odds with each other about the house. Thought I'll be relaxed, turns out I was the fussy one! Everything also don't want, nak tingkat tinggi, taknak tepi tong sampah, ni taknak, tu taknak- semua tak kene! Doesn't help that my prefered units were already booked. :(

After countless discussions and outbursts, we short listed another 4 units and Alhamdullilah, we got our first choice!

So gotta wait another 4 months till we sign the lease agreement. :) Now that the house issue is more or less settled, I can concentrate more on the wedding.Haven't been making any progress for the wedding. I've been looking around and now I'm thinking of engaging a freelance MUA instead of a bridal house. -.-

Keep changing my mind about the bridal house. Sigh, must really decide and do all the necessary bookings next year. Reading about bad experiences from other brides scares me too especially when the negative reviews involve the vendor I'm planning to engage. :( I have yet to have nightmares about the wedding but tak lama lagi confirm termimpi mimpi, haha. :p

t.o.m.o.k's wedding.

I am a sucker for celebrity weddings especially those from Malaysia and Indonesia. Always inspired by their classy gubahan and pelamin.

Yesterday my friend showed me a video of T/omok's wedding. T/omok was a member of a Malaysian band, New Boyz. They produced awesome karaoke jiwang songs. My 13 year old self would have weeped like mad. Hey, don't judge, I'm sure there's a bit of jiwang in every one of us. :P

Gorgeous.

And of course, this KPO had to dig out for the wedding videos. Love them! Shall save all these and show my wedding vendors.

WOOT.

Finally I am satisfied with my blog layout. FYI, I am super fussy with my blog layout ok. Everytime nak buat layout, kene side track. Tengok TV la, reply Twitter la, tengok orang lain nye Facebook ah...tu pasal tak abis abis layout ni.

YAY. Now finish already!

Since the last update, I've been doing some stuff for the wedding. We agreed on a date that won't clash on our shifts. Sucks to be working shifts man. I prefer 9-5 thanks. ANYWAY, the date will be around late November.

Initially wanted it to be on my birthday but our shifts are gonna clash. -.-. Sibeh sian. So we're gonna have it after MY birthday, woot. Now that we've agreed to the date, things should be easier.

Eventhough it's still a long way to go till the wedding, I believe there's no harm in surveying and recce-ing. See see only. So far, I've been to 3 wedding expos, they're ok I guess.

A few weeks ago I called Chinta & Versari Ade for appointments and to my dismay, I may have to cancel Versari which was initally my first choice. :( Chinta's price suited my budget and also they have more varieties of Indian costumes. My fiance is half indian so he insists on an indian costume.

I am still looking around for andamans- thinking of D'Glamz too. I love their outfits!!! But we'll see how. Mom isn't too keen on a male MUA. I'm sure we can work something out!

3) Deco

Catering is not really on my list cos my parents are kindly gonna settle it cos my aunt owns a catering business. Tu sudah diatur beres!

There are so many bridal houses nowadays. Here are some of my choices. I am leaning more towards flawless makeup, for the outfits I'm not so fussy- but who am I kidding. No dramatic makeup or OTT outfits please. I prefer classy and clean lines.

1) Versari Ade
Lovely songket collection, simple makeup- I like the concept of flowers in the hair and sanggul.

2) Lady Sophia Bridal
My BFF engaged her and I lovelovelove Kak Sophie's easy going nature and her collection of outfits. Very good service also! 

3) D'Glamz Wedding
Lovely makeup & nice outfits! My cousin is gonna engage them for her February 2012 wedding.

4) JulsDsweet
I just discovered her FB page actually and I loveeeeee the makeup. I think she is a freelance MUA? I don't know, will check it out later.

5) Chinta Weddings
Lovely outfits and again, flawless makeup. I think if I engage Chinta, I'm gonna ask for Lily. Read that she's really good from another wedding blog.



EEEEEE, so many bridal houses!!! Need to survey more.
